Hugs & Stitches - 1st & 3rd Thursdays 10 am
This is a wonderful ministry of women who meet together and create prayer shawls, baby blankets, and so much more. These items are prayed over and gifted to new babies of the church, people going through sickness, those who have lost loved ones, and so many more. Even if you don’t know how to crochet or knit, they love having new people come learn, fellowship, and pray. Hugs & Stitches meets upstairs in the CLC. Contact Anne Elam for more information.
Card Ministry - Tuesday mornings at 9:00 am
The card ministry at SMC was created over 10 years ago by a few ladies who loved to write notes/cards and wanted to use that gift to send words of encouragement to those who were sick, grieving, going through chronic illness or maybe cancer treatments. The ministry grew and we began sending cards to deployed military, new parents, graduates, and members with milestone birthdays. We also send cards to college freshman to encourage them through their first year. We currently have 3 ladies who write cards every Tuesday morning at 9:00AM. We could use some folks who are willing to fill in when a regular team member is unable to come. Shut in Ministry
This ministry seeks to minister to our church members who are not able to worship with us in person. Some are in nursing home or assisted living and others are in their homes. We have volunteers who visit and/or call to provide encouragement and support. We want them to feel the love of their church family in a personal and caring way.
